Highlights

  • The Malik Al-Ashtar (2019): Lead counsel in a Sessions Court trial representing Cosco Shipping Lines. The key issue was whether the subcontractor claimant was in breach of industry standards by securing particular containers with semi-automatic twist locks.

  • Lead counsel in a number of Winding-Up Proceedings arising from the failure of charterers to pay hire and freight under charterparty agreements and arbitration awards.

  • The Bunga Melati 2 (2010): Junior counsel in a High Court suit acting for the international shipping line MISC. The dispute arose out of a shipment of oil. The preliminary issue before the Admiralty Court was whether the Claimant cargo owner had title to sue as the rightful holder of the bill of lading.
